Ten individuals sentenced of cyber-bullying targeting Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has ruled against ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced allegations of circulating fabrications regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to publishing hurtful comments about the pair's 24-year age gap.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the convicted individuals. The detailed judgment has still to be made public.
A circulating false narrative claiming that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has existed since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This latest legal outcome in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a libel case in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced similar conspiracy theories about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.
Their lawsuit contends that Owens disregarded all credible evidence that refuted her assertions opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has often echoed these claims on her digital program and social media channels, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is in fact a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her current spouse when she worked as an educator at his lycée.
The two married in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was 54.
